Step 1. Start the software, go to File menu > New > Database, then double click the icon of Chen ERD or Martin ERD to open a new drawing page. Or just get a quick start by clicking the built-in templates.
Step 2. Switch to left libraries, drag ERD shapes you need and drop on the drawing page. Edit the shape sizes and colors one by one or select all shapes and click Same Size to change one time.
Step 3. Connect shapes by dragging proper connectors from left libraries or choose from Connector under Home page.
Step 4. Add contents by double clicking the shapes directly or clicking Text to open a block, then add contents.
Step 5. Navigate to Page Layout and select a theme you like from built-in themes to make the ER diagram more attractive. Background can also be added.
Step 6. Go back to File menu again, click Save to save the diagram as default .eddx; or export it to common formats for convenient sharing.
